Happy New Year, friends!! Hope you had a beautiful holiday season with those you love!! I’m ready to start some New Year’s reflections soon, and I cannot wait to teach my Marketing & Value course for photographers on January 11! But first…it’s time to share the BEST OF 2019.
This post is so much fun for me every year and also so hard, because I feel like I will always be leaving out moments that I forget! Also, I choose to catalog BEST by posting pictures of my brides and grooms, some bridal party, and my engaged couples. I may do a separate BEST post for details though because it’s fun to look back on the creativity of my brides and what struck my eye differently this past year!
This year, I photographed 16 weddings, 7 engagements, and 1 proposal! Among countless other portrait sessions and a few commercial shoots! Derek and I captured 5 destination weddings!!! 1 in the Hudson Valley, 2 in Connecticut, 1 in Lake George (our first Adirondack wedding!!). and 1 was a REAL destination in the Florida Keys!!! (For Derek’s step-sister!). For CNY weddings, I traveled from Syracuse, Cazenovia, and Verona to Groton, Penn Yan and Cooperstown!
I did 3 styled shoots! My second styled shoot was at my first Lighting Course at RedBarn20 styled by LoveWell Weddings, and I had 10 photographer attendees! Jess and Andrew were our real couple models and the rain came out for us just as we were capturing them by the fire, it was pure magic! My second styled shoot was at the Delight Retreat in Leavenworth, Washington with a sweet couple Aubrey and Kyle! It was such a blessing to teach lighting and posing and also do a spiritual breakout session at this retreat- it was an amazing community of God-following creative young photographers! My last styled shoot was in July during the busy summer season, I took a day to travel to Rochester and capture an amazing styled shoot styled by my friend Events by Carianne at La Luna Restaurant, with my friends Naomi and Caleb as models!
Some memorable moments from my weddings included chasing 3 incredible sunsets, with one couple running across the street! One wedding was rainy and we captured beautiful moments, including the most incredible night photo with the rain! One bride installed a beautiful gallery with GIANT prints from her engagement session! A few of my brides ended their wedding with a fun bonfire, and one with a sparkler exit! And one of my bride and groom jumped into a POOL with their wedding dress and tux on, and bunch of their guests followed them!
Here is a recap of all the BEST moments of weddings and engagements from 2019! Enjoy, I hope they inspire you! I cannot wait for what 2020 has in store!!
