Friends, hope you had an amazing labor day!! Summer may be over on the calendar but according to my husband we still have a few weeks left here in CNY! Now that we’re back from our Colorado vacation I’m going to spend some time wrapping up our summer weddings on the blog!
First is this one, Corine and Derek’s! Seriously, these two make me SO happy. Their smiles just radiate and are contagious. I met Corine through MY husband Derek (haha not confusing at all!) and we have a lot of mutual friends. Corine and Derek have such a sweet relationship and it was so beautiful to capture.
When I arrived at Corine’s mom’s house, her sisters and friend were helping her get ready – she was already glowing! And then I photographed her beautiful lace gown and bridal details – I loved all her blue accents and her elegant bridal flip flops When it was time to get ready, she got dressed on the porch with her mom, her sisters, and her little nieces. It was such a sweet time of everyone helping her and the little girls loving being a part of it. Corine looked so beautiful! She opened gifts from Derek which he made himself, so cute! Then we took family photographs outside before leaving for the church.
Derek was waiting for his bride at the altar at St. Ann’s church. Derek works at this church, so it was so special for them to be married by 5 fathers/deacons! They had a beautiful ceremony and exchanged their vows at the altar surrounded by their bridal party. Corine and Derek were smiling ear to ear as they exchanged rings – and then with a kiss, they were pronounced husband and wife! After the ceremony, while we took family photographs, their guests enjoyed donuts outside like they always have after church. So cute with their “Donut mind if I do” napkins! After we took a few portraits of Corine and Derek, we left for their venue The Cannery in Verona!
We took photographs with their bridal party behind the beautiful architecture of the Cannery! It’s such a gorgeous space! And a fun group of people! A favorite photograph of mine was when we decided to use the bar area with hanging lights! Then we took Corine and Derek out into the gorgeous sunlight for their photographs – and their love shined just as bright Their guests started to arrive and enjoyed cocktail hour outside on the patio, while their reception room was decorated inside. I loved the industrial feel of the space while having a dessert cart right beside their sweetheart table – again with hanging lights! Corine loves to bake so it was only fitting to have a cake and cupcakes!
The bridal party entered to a full room celebrating them, and the new Mr. & Mrs! Corine and Derek danced a sweet first dance, and then Corine’s dad welcomed everyone. They had toasts given by her dad, Corine’s sisters and Derek’s friend. They had the coolest, and toasted with milk and cookies. So much fun! After their parent dances, the party got started! Their guests loved dancing the night away, until the buffet for dinner was ready. They also had a photo booth which their friends loved – including some of my friends (and I may have popped in there myself!) The guests danced for the rest of the night and before the end we took Corine and Derek out for night photographs outside – the perfect way to end their evening!
I hope these two have a beautiful and blessed start to their marriage! It was a joy and honor being a part of their day Hope you enjoy their story!
