Friends, do I have a treat for you today!! I have been waiting to share this amazing destination wedding for Danielle and Scott, and today is the day!! Many of you saw Derek and I’s travel to the Florida Keys last month, and this was the reason!
Danielle is Derek’s stepsister, and we were so honored to be chosen to photograph her wedding to Scott! This whole process of their engagement and wedding have helped us all get to know each other better, and they are just the SWEETEST!
Danielle met Scott in Florida when she went down there for school (originally she is from Colorado), and Scott is a “Florida Boy” through and through! They now co-own the Florida Boy Bar and Grill in Islamorada and live the island life together every day! (And now with their golden retriever pup Cheeto!)
I knew this wedding was going to be so much fun, but had no idea it would be as gorgeous as it was too! Danielle and Scott rented an incredible 3-story home on Islamorada with this incredible view of the water for their ceremony. When I arrived and saw this view, and Danielle and her bridesmaids getting ready in their cute robes, I knew this day was going to be so epic!! Danielle looked so gorgeous as her best friend and mom helped her get dressed outside on the patio! (It was about 95 degrees and humid, so we chose our outside moments carefully – but it was just too beautiful to be limited by that!) Then, she took some adorable portraits with her bridesmaids with the gorgeous palms behind them! And right before the ceremony, her dad (and Derek’s stepdad) came to say hello and of course there were some tears!
Scott arrived with the boys and their guests started to arrive downstairs. After everyone was seated and walked down the aisle, Scott stood up front and held Cheeto as his beautiful bride entered! They had a short and sweet ceremony, and before long they were MARRIED and celebrating it!
We took some photographs on the property, the gorgeous dock and palm trees before heading to Angler House Marina! When we arrived, shrimp was being served by the pool and drinks were being served from the upstairs patio of the marina and came down to the guests via zip line! (so amazing!) We took photographs of Danielle and Scott and their bridal party in the beautiful light, and then more of the bride and groom! I was in photographer heaven!
Then, everyone gathered upstairs under the tiki roof and waited for the bride and groom to make their grand entrance! They exchanged a sweet first dance, and their friends gave some sweet toasts! Then the bar opened, and they enjoyed mingling, drinks, and DANCING! The party really got started!
We snuck a few night photos by the pool, which were so gorgeous with the floating candles, and lights! So romantic! Then they served their pizza cake – which I loved, such a unique idea! And there was more dancing until the end of the night Their guests gathered in the walkway from the tiki hut to the pool and blew bubbles at the newlyweds!
Then, Danielle and Scott did something so amazing!! (Which we had planned) They jumped into the pool together, with dress and suit on, to “trash the dress” at the end of the evening! Then all their friends started jumping in after them! There were splashes, celebration…WOW. Something unlike anything I had seen, it was so much fun!! What a way to end their amazing day in the Florida Keys
I am so happy for these two and hope their marriage is filled with all of this joy and love we witnessed on this day! Enjoy Danielle and Scott’s story!
When THIS is the first shot of the day…I was just speechless.
