Oh, friends!! I am so happy to be HOME after a month of nonstop adventure! You know I love adventure but I also love community, my husband and being rooted. So it feels great to be back and to now attack blogging and editing!!
Today, I’m thrilled to share my first spring wedding of the season with you! Hope and Jason have such a beautiful love and a creative eye for detail, it was so much fun to be a part of their day
I met Hope through a past bride of mine from Stamford, CT – Shira. Shira used to be taught by Hope and spoke so highly of her. When I connected with Hope and Jason, I found out Hope is a graphic designer and I loved how thoughtful she was about every aspect of her wedding day. When I met Hope & Jason this past summer, I loved their adventurous spirits and that he proposed to her while paddleboarding!
I was so excited for their wedding, and as soon as I stepped into their industrial chic wedding venue The Loading Dock by Abigail Kirsch, I was blown away. Hope and Jason had printed 3 giant (approx 50×35”) posters from their engagement session in the gallery wall! And this was just the start!
After I photographed Hope’s gown and gorgeous wedding details (including her amazing invitation suite and orange flowers!), Hope and the girls arrived just in time to take photos in their robes and help Hope get dressed in the gallery hallway. Hope was just beaming and was a stunning bride ready to see her man!
Jason arrived with the guys and Derek and I set up the first look outside in between the walls of the industrial space. These two had such a sweet moment when they first saw each other! And the lighting was amazing! 76 and sunny on an April day, what could be better!
We then explored the industrial space and took more portraits of the almost Mr & Mrs, and their bridal party! Then we went inside before guests arrived to prepare for their indoor ceremony. The room had romantic candlelight and urban brick walls, and they had a band play “God blessed the broken road” as Hope walked toward her groom. After a beautiful ceremony filled with words of their family and friends, these two were married!!
They then had an elegant cocktail hour and their guests signed a paddle board for them in the gallery room. Then their candle lit reception began and the new bride and groom entered! They had toasts given by parents, Jason’s brother and Hope’s best friend. And then the dance party started!! Their band created a great time for their friends and family, even the little flower girls and ring bearers! Before the end of the night of course, we took some epic night photos of Hope and Jason outside – the perfect way to end their day!
I had so much fun working with these two and wish them every love and happiness in their life together :). I hope you enjoy their story!
