Oh, friends! It’s one of my favorite posts of the year! I absolutely LOVE re-capping this way and showing you what it REALLY looked like to work behind the scenes, and showing what a real wedding photographer’s job is like! It is SO much more than taking photographs, there are so many important little moments to serve and help the couple in order to create the space and environment to create the beautiful photographs.
2017 was a BIG year for me – I photographed 16 weddings in downstate New York after moving to Central New York last winter (LOTS of travel was involved!!), then I got married this fall, and we photographed 2 weddings after ours with our last one in Rochester on New Year’s Eve! I can’t believe it – but it was filled with a ton of fun moments and blessings! So excited to share it with you!
I love this shot for some reason! When the hair goes up you know it’s gettin’ real!
I love starting wedding days with details and getting ready portraits.
AND having this guy with me now – my honey makes me smile!
The first look is my absolute fave. Whoops – stepped in front of my second shooter’s shot for a sec while changing angles!
Haha showing my friend and the bride where her future husband was standing…
Basically the groom pulled off a “prank” first look after the real one – and Derek was in on it! Haha. And yes, I love hand motions.
I always talk to the groom and set him up before the bride comes to meet him!
Not sure what’s going on here! I think I was telling my second shooter which way the bride was walking! lol!
AHH sweetest moment!
Yup, totally got in this shot and may or may not have had to edit myself out of these wide angles!
I couldn’t photograph without an incredible team! This is Molly, and it pretty much summarizes how awesome she is!
And Aaron, we’ve been working together for years – he rocks!! And he has 5 sons, so he really relates to the kids well!
The newest addition to the Kerri Lynne Photography team…my husband. He thinks he’s pretty bad driving these golf carts 😉
There were a few occasions where the puffy jacket was necessary!
Love watching him find his angles!
Yup, we were both pretty stoked to have Derek with us! Derek and Molly being crazy kids, and then the 2 of us – it may be our only decent portrait this season!
I loved shooting in these outdoor ceremony spaces this season!
“Is the bride ever going to come? It’s getting pretty hot…” I worked with some fun bridal parties this year too!
Whoops, the ladies are totally in back of this shot! haha!
Loved this group and these colors!
Waiting for the bride to come, soooooo, you might as well put everyone else in position right? The groom even has her flowers haha!
I LOVE working with fun couples! Stefan and Lindsay are totally rocking it out to those bubble guns! And me…posing before the reception starts.
Somehow I ended up making it into the background of some of my second shooters’ first dance shots! Haha!
THIS, we do every wedding. Testing lighting = time to make the silliest faces ever.
Testing lighting outside for a night shot…Molly made a great subject!
Me, being a goofball again. Testing lighting.
We rang in the new year as husband and wife with one of our couples! So fun! More on that later when I blog Kelli and Greg’s wedding!
Okay, back to my FAVORITE part of the day, couples portraits!! This one was a little tricky with the wind!
Haha reviewing my image while walking. The light was so perfect!
Loved posing these two here, this carriage house was gorgeous!
Basically I fix a lot of veils and trains of bridal gowns. Totally part of the job! And I love it
I also fix a lot of brides’ hair. It’s tough to be a girl! This wedding was a little rainy but these two rocked it!
My second shooters also get involved with the veils to help me nail the shot!
I think I was trying to make sure her shoes weren’t stuck in the train tracks before we proceeded?
Haha love this, I’ve become great at holding the bride’s bouquet WHILE shooting in short moments while we move!
Scoping out the beach and grasses and seeing “can we really get you down there with that dress?” We TOTALLY did. And they were the best portraits of the day.
My second shooter was shooting wide and whoops there I am on the left!
Another thing I was able to do this fall was start capturing some epic engagements in upstate New York! Loved photographing these two at Cornell!
The shot behind the previous shot? My honey on this ledge! I so couldn’t resist capturing THIS.
And of course, the LIGHT is always where the magic happens! The right place at the right time!
Another awesome engagement in Cazenovia – loved Chittenango Falls! I have NO clue what I’m doing with my hands here.
Look who was with me shooting too! He looks so natural here in this flowing stream.
I loved this – actually looking at Derek’s camera and smiling with my clients!
The most EPIC sunset at RedBarn20!!
Back to shooting more fall barn weddings – seriously loved them! Dress fixing again
Loved this spot in the Catskills and the COLORS!
My heart, I love barns as much as this bride did. She was so giddy to photograph here!
Again, it’s all about the LIGHT!
This was more of a romantic setting with these two at Lineman Chapel in Rochester! I certainly bundled up for THIS winter wedding during the freeze – and these two did amazing!
And we DID catch the light here at High Falls! The most epic way to end such a wonderful 2017 season!
Thank you again, as always, for your support friends! Hope this post was as entertaining to you as it was to me to put together!! Can’t wait to see what my recap will look like next year!
