Oh, friends! I am just so thrilled to post this wedding today! I’m still catching up after my mini-vacay in Lake George with my fiance’s family, but the time away was so sweet and so needed! Especially during wedding season
One of my favorites from this season so far is Jorie and Michael’s wedding! Every aspect of their farm wedding in the Hudson Valley was just beautiful, as was their love for each other. Jorie and Michael both went to college in Florida and met on a trip to Indonesia. (Coolest place to meet, right?!) They just “clicked” as the saying goes, and could tell that their adventurous spirits matched one another. They live in Fort Lauderdale and love spending time with their pup, who they adopted from a rescue mission. They love stand up paddleboarding, kayaking, and all sorts of adventure! Michael proposed to Jorie while visiting her family for Christmas in Canada, and their families were just thrilled when the moment happened and she said yes!
When it came time to plan their wedding, they loved the idea of the Catskills, since Jorie’s family is nearby and they both enjoy the mountains and a more relaxed atmosphere. Lydia Castiglia from Catskill Weddings helped them plan the most beautiful day at a new venue in High Falls, Crested Hen Farms, with their day starting at the Hasbrouck House in Stone Ridge. When I arrived, I was in awe of her gorgeous lace gown, which was so unique – and her gorgeous flowers (also designed by Catskill Weddings!) The colors were so vibrant and beautiful, and Jorie was smiling from ear to ear. After she got dressed and surprised all of her girls, she gave them each a sweet bracelet and gave her little flower girls matching necklaces and sparkly purses. Too adorable! Then it was time to head to the venue for the ceremony, where Michael and the guys were waiting!
Every detail was set up, from lavendar lemonade to their beautiful cake, their tables of appetizers, their candy bar, lounge furniture and pillows – it was ready for a fun and relaxed family atmosphere. And their caterer was making rotisserie chickens outside and the roast was creating the most beautiful smell and smoke!
Jorie walked down the aisle to Michael, and they exchanged handwritten vows, and had their bridal party pass two bottles with separate flames which they then united. Then these two were married!! We took a family and bridal party photos in the most beautiful light, and then portraits of Jorie and Michael by the barn and then by the flowing stream. Then, we headed into the barn where they entered and were ready to get a party started!! Their guests definitely got down on the dance floor between speeches and food, and then went outside to enjoy the atmosphere on the patio, and a bonfire which ended the night. Of course we snuck out for some night portraits before the night was over!
There was so much love a part of this day between Jorie and Michael, and both of their families. It was such a joy to be a part of it. I hope you enjoy their sweet story!
