Kayla & Pete’s Engagement!

Oh, friends! I’m finally coming down off my high from bridal showers and wedding celebrations – and I’m so thrilled to start the week by sharing these two with you!

I couldn’t be more honored to work with sweet clients like this. In February, I put a contest out on Instagram looking for a love story to capture this spring in the Finger Lakes! Kayla and Pete responded and immediately caught my eye, because they are so in love and their wedding is at Ventosa Vineyards in the Finger Lakes this fall. They met at a wiffle ball tournament at a mutual friend’s house. They live in Jersey City, but love traveling to vineyards and enjoying time together outside and in nature. Kayla and Pete want their guests this fall to really experience the beauty of the landscape and make a relaxing trip out of it!

I just loved spending time with these two!! The weather was threatening that day, but as soon as we got to Ventosa Vineyards, the sky opened up, the sun started shining! We took a stroll through the vineyard, and went into the vines. I loved their natural laughter together and capturing how sweet they are together. And Pete was really good at dipping Kayla – so romantic! Then, we walked down by the big tree at the bottom of the hill – which I didn’t know was the background to their wedding invitations! So we made sure to include that in some photos – and we even created a surprise moment, like they’ll have on their wedding day for their first look

After we finished at the vineyard, we drove to Watkins Glen (an amazing park also on Seneca lake!) and it started torrentially down pouring! However, again, by the time we got there, it dried up! I had heard so many beautiful things about Watkins Glen, and Kayla had been hiking there and loved it. We walked along the waterfalls, created some beautiful light, and even took out the umbrella for some romantic rain pictures. I had no idea Kayla loves the rain – so it worked out great!
