Happy Friday, friends! I am so excited to share this wedding with you! It’s been a crazy week here but so good – seeing lots of beauty and sweet couples. These two are truly special. Katie and Anthony have such a beautiful love and connection, they share each other’s quirkiness, and have so much joy. They also have such warm and generous hearts. So I couldn’t wait to be a part of their day!
Katie and Anthony met in the copy room at work – and one day Katie told Anthony that he had one of the best smiles she’d ever seen. One thing led to another…and their journey brought them to this day where they are promising forever.
When I arrived at Katie’s hotel, I couldn’t believe what thought she put in to all of her details! I was swooning over her bright red shoes, lace, and the girls’ white peony bouquets. I’m telling you, it’s always the peonies! Katie’s aunt finished her hair and her mom helped her get dressed…and after her first look with her dad, her bridesmaids surrounded her with a hug. Then she tearily opened Anthony’s note…and she was beyond ready to go see her man!
When we arrived to The Clubhouse at Patriot Hills, it had just started raining. So we planned to have Katie and Anthony’s first look on the patio. I can’t even tell you, I don’t think I’ve seen a more emotional first look – these two had so much anticipation leading up to that moment! And afterwards, it was all joy and smiles, and they were both so relaxed. They even adventured with us on golf carts with umbrellas to take romantic rainy photographs in the beautiful scenery. (And it was SO worth it!) Then, we shot fun photographs with the bridal party on the patio. And everyone got ready for their ceremony!
They had their beautiful ceremony arch moved indoors, which was so beautiful with the greenery, flowers and hanging candles. The ceremony was so moving and their vows even made me tear up! Anthony kept wiping his eyes, he totally didn’t anticipate getting emotional! And then these two were MARRIED! We took family photos on the patio and then enjoyed the rest of cocktail hour
Then, the party was ready to get started! Anthony gave a sweet welcome speech and asked his new wife for their first dance. They danced sweetly with their parents, then their friends gave speeches during dinner and told funny memories. Before it got too dark, I slipped away with Katie and Anthony and took portraits outside. Best decision ever – we took some really sweet and fun images out there when it wasn’t raining!
Back inside, another touching tradition happened: the newlyweds were wrapped in an Indonesian tribal blanket and blessed by one of Anthony’s relatives. Afterwards it was all dancing! The Mexican party hats were a hit and their families danced the night away!
I am so thrilled for Katie and Anthony! Hope you love their story
