Oh I’m so thrilled to post these two today! It’s my last fall session to post and last one of Christmas week – how did that even happen so fast?!
When I first met Julie and Jake, I loved their whimsical personalities and their love of the outdoors. Julie and Jake’s first date was at an Irish pub, and they always call each other “buddy” because they are buddies at everything in life. They love hiking and canoeing, and have a house that they visit frequently in the Catskills.
When it came time to propose, Jake planned a romantic weekend with Julie at the Equinox Resort in Vermont! He took her at a sleigh ride at dusk, and it started to snow, so they pulled up to a fire pit to take pictures. Julie asked him where to stand, and Jake said, “you’re the only one who will be standing,” and he got down on one knee to propose. And of course she said yes!! I just love that story!
We planned their engagement session for Central Park, as they live in Manhattan and visit it frequently together. Julie wanted to choose areas in the park that looked more like the “woods” which of course I love!! So she suggested we visit one of the bridges and then head into the Ramble! Of course I was up for this adventure and it was awesome exploring this part of the park with them! The light was just AMAZING. When we finished in the Ramble, they changed and we headed to Shakespeare Gardens and Julie was excited to wear her LL Bean boots! I loved that – it’s my fiance’s favorite store, so I’m newly acquainted with Bean – and Julie went to college in Maine where those boots are a huge thing! Then we found some acorns and took some fun ring shots, caught some more magic light, and then headed into Turtle Pond and ended on Sheep Meadow just before sunset.
I had SUCH a great day adventuring with these two – and already can’t wait for their wedding this May! I hope you enjoy Julie and Jake’s story!!
Loved this bridge! What a start!
This light was so beautiful! Looking great you two!!
Love that laughter!
LOVE that one to the left! Gorgeous Julie!
Beautiful! And perfect light!
I LOVED that beautiful row of trees behind them!
SO much fun! Ring shot on an acorn – why not?!
This light was seriously amazing right here!
So neat, this is right near Turtle Pond and you would never know – the colors in this tree were just so “fall!”
The benches in Central Park – so romantic.
Ahh one of my favorites right here!
So I asked them to do a “little dance together” and it turned into this – haha so fun!
The perfect way to end the day – sunset at Sheep Meadow!
