Happy Friday, friends!! I’m getting ready to go to the Restore NYC gala tonight (as many of you know my work supports anti-human trafficking!) but first, I had to start the weekend off with this amazing engagement session!!
I loved meeting Lia and hearing all about her and Nate before they asked me to be their wedding photographer! They’re both sweethearts, and I could tell they’re both so adventurous. They had lived together in Hawaii and now are in PA – and it’s amazing to see all the places their lives have taken them. Nate is from Missouri and grew up on a farm; Lia is from Long Island. But they both love the outdoors and exploring together!
When we spoke about their engagement session, Lia had a vision for a farm engagement, as they both have fallen in love with some of the local farms and barns in their area! It was amazing that I had visited Sprout Creek Farm just this season for Arielle and James’ wedding and thought it would be the perfect spot! It was even more perfect than we imagined.
On the day of their session, the light was pure magic right from the start! The farm was quiet that afternoon, and we had the whole beautiful scene to ourselves – which was amazing! We took a look at some turkeys and then went closer to the barns and silos. We found some really sweet, intimate spots with really great textured backdrops. And this black cat kept following us around – I loved it because it made the two of them laugh so much, and I could capture those moments! We climbed on hay bales in the barn, and chased the light and one colorful tree at the farm.
Then, I saw a field of milkweed behind one of the cottages and asked if they would be up for exploring. Of course, they were! We trudged down this hill in our boots, rogue style, and caught the most magical light on them!! I was in awe! We then realized that there was an actual path to walk on that would take us into an even bigger field of milkweeds, so of course we had to do that. We realized that Sprout Creek farm has a creek – and it was so beautiful! Nate was inspired and asked Lia if she’d go on his back into the creek. He had a vision that it would make beautiful photos – and was he ever right!! That was definitely a highlight of our day! The water wasn’t too cold, but it was amazing to watch them trudge into it together and enjoy a beautiful romantic moment.
I’m so excited to be a part of their wedding this spring! I hope you enjoy Lia and Nate’s story!!
