Happy Friday, friends!! This one is for you!
I’ve been doing so much traveling lately, and just keeping up with everything! When I went south to Florida for my cousin’s wedding a few weeks ago, on the way back home I stopped to spend a few days in Charleston, South Carolina with my parents. Just as a little rest after the craziness from all our traveling, to take time to soak in some beauty.
I had no idea how much my heart needed this until I was there! I just fell in LOVE with Charleston! It was just…enchanting. There are no other words for it. You’ll see
We went to all the plantations we could in the few days we were there! Just walked around and soaked it all in. We went to Magnolia Plantation, took a carriage ride in downtown Charleston, went to Cypress Gardens and Boone Hall Plantation. For all the fans of “The Notebook” movie – Cypress Gardens is the place where Noah and Allie had their boat scene with all the white ducks! Now I can say from being there in person, it was just as surreal, just as serene and beautiful as you would picture. And then we went to Boone Hall Plantation – in the movie was the summer home where Allie stayed with her parents. And in real life it has tons of history!
I hope you enjoy these landscape and nature photos – and they’re a good breather for you this Friday!
Here’s to an inspired, restful weekend!
When we pulled into Magnolia Plantation, this is what we saw…
Love this and love daisies!
The live oak trees with spanish moss were everywhere!
Come on, how was this even real…
We took a walk through the swamp! I have always had a thing for swamps – so this was heaven…
Downtown Charleston is so charming!!
That was our horse “Big John” – he did a great job! He’s 2000 pounds – wow. And almost retired!
Love this street!
This one’s known as Rainbow Row…
And onto Cypress Gardens – SUCH a dream!! Bucket list item – major check!
I still can’t believe this really happened…
Love my parents! We had such a great time.
And finally, Boone Hall Plantation! If the live oak tree entrance wasn’t enough, how about a field full of poppy flowers?! SOOO dreamy!!
“Notebook” fans – look familiar?!
