It’s been a whirlwind start to August, as a new wedding season began!
The end of summer couldn’t have started better than with these two! Diane and Tony are so much fun! When I met them, I could see their love and joy together – and Diane has the biggest smile, it’s contagious! Both Diane and Tony are super athletic, and share their love of sports and the great outdoors. (And of course their puppy Tonka!)
I was really excited for their day – I knew their bright summer wedding would have so much energy! And when the day came, they couldn’t have had a better summer day – bright skies, no humidity, and perfect sunlight.
When I arrived at Diane’s house, all the girls were done with their hair and makeup. (I was very impressed!) Her mom’s house was really rustic, and I had a lot of fun photographing the details outside against the cool wooden textures. When it was time for Diane to get dressed, her mom and girls helped her – and she was just radiant. (That smile again!) After she was dressed, all of her bridesmaids toasted to the new bride with these cute glasses Diane bought them with their names on it. We took some fun photographs with the girls on Diane’s balcony, and I took some portraits of her with that perfect streaming light!
We went straight to Glen Island Harbour Club in New Rochelle, Diane and Tony’s venue for the ceremony and reception. It’s a gorgeous venue with great food (this Italian girl loves it every time!), and Glen Island is situated in a beautiful park, with a harbour, dock, an awesome old castle, and tons of scenery with rocks and water. What could be better?!
Diane and Tony had their first look out on a beautiful dock, and even boaters and kayakers held back their boats for them to enjoy that special moment. Tony was beaming, and I could tell they were both so excited to see each other! After we photographed their first look, we captured their family, bridesmaids and groomsmen. The harbour in the background and the light was completely perfect! I loved the colors Diane chose – the neutral lace dresses with a statement necklace, and bright sunflowers. It wasn’t “matchy matchy” but super fun – I’m sure Diane’s bridesmaids will wear their dresses and necklaces again!
After the bridal party photographs, my favorite – photographs with Diane and Tony. We photographed near the harbour and by the castle – and both of them were all smiles!
Then, we headed to the ceremony – which was beautifully set up overlooking the Harbour. The view couldn’t have been better! Tony’s nephew was the ring bearer and he needed a little help getting down the aisle- it was so cute! You could tell how happy Tony was when his bride walked toward them. After their beautiful ceremony, they had an incredible cocktail hour set up with tables of food everywhere!! When the reception started, Diane and Tony entered with beer in hand cradled in “Mr” & “Mrs” cup-holders. So fun! They enjoyed their first dance, and then Diane danced with each of her 4 brothers and Tony danced with his mom. Those moments with Diane’s brothers were so emotional and sweet. Then, their family lightened up the mood with the toasts – the whole place was roaring with laughter, especially during Tony’s brother’s speech! Then, the dance floor opened and it was packed all night – their guests had so much fun. We also put on a photo booth, which everyone loved!! At the end of the night, Diane and Tony had a viennese hour with dessert everywhere – a perfect way to end the evening.
You could see how much joy and love Diane and Tony have all day – I wish them every happiness! Enjoy their story
