FRIENDS! So excited to blog this today!
A few months ago, I was blessed to have been a part of my first styled shoot! One of my brides started her own floral business, and I wanted to do something to support her work. Then, some hair and makeup artists I know were thinking creatively about planning a shoot. And we all settled on a theme: Downton Abbey.
Not sure if you’re a fan of the PBS show “Downton Abbey,” but I am!! I can’t WAIT for the show to come out every January! It follows the storyline of the Earl of Grantham, his wife and three daughters; as well as the servants who work in their beautiful castle. The show is written so well, that the lives of all the characters interwoven in some way. The writing is so good, the show could really be a book.
All the vendors I spoke with were all inspired by the idea of this shoot, set in a castle, with vintage fashion from England in the 1920s. We found the perfect location at the beautiful Reid Castle, and the most unique Papilio gown! And of course, an amazing couple.
I was so happy to have Emily and Matt model for us, because they are a real couple! They were 3 weeks away from their own wedding day, so all of their poses and gestures aren’t staged – they’re real love This is a look at what Emily and Matt’s wedding might have looked like almost 100 years ago in England. Our hair and makeup artists styled two different “looks,” one for a garden-themed brunch and one for a more elegant look indoors.
I’m so thankful for the hard work that all of our vendors did to put this shoot together! Make sure to take a look at Kraig’s awesome Behind the Scenes video, and the credits at the bottom. None of this could have come together without their hard work and creativity!
All of these desserts are real, including these scrumptious raspberry tarts – made by our fabulous chef Danielle Alex!
